When I think of my school days, I remember a few lines from the “Social Studies” textbook which said,
India is a democratic country. Democracy works on a simple policy; here, the people select their own leaders. So in short, democracy is termed as “BY the people, OF the people and FOR the people”. But the sad truth is, after India’s independence these policies, slogans don’t matter anymore. At present, the leaders that we choose work only with a single motive, “Screw people, Make Money and deposit it in Swiss bank”.
Talking about the 2014 elections, Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal are the front runners to be the next Prime Minister of India. Let’s discuss about them, one after the other.
Arvind Kejriwal (AAP):
No matter which News channel you switch on to, this man is making most of news, for many famous as well as infamous reasons.
Born and brought up in a middle class family of Haryana, Arvind Kejriwal is an IIT-K passed out. After graduating he joined Tata Steel and his last designation on which he resigned was Joint Commissioner of Income Tax in New Delhi. (To know his complete history you can follow Wikipedia; I am not going to waste your time discussing all those here).
It won’t be wrong if I call him a Social Activist. Some of his good works are as follows:
- In December 1999, while still in service with the Income Tax Department, he helped to found a movement named “Parivartan” that focused on assisting citizens in navigating income tax, electricity and food ration matters in parts of Delhi. The Parivartan organisation exposed a fake ration card scam in 2008. It was for his involvement with Parivartan that Kejriwal had been given the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership in 2006.
- Together with Manish Sisodia and Abhinandan Sekhri, Kejriwal established the Public Cause Research Foundation in December 2006, donating the prize money he had received from the Ramon Magsaysay Award as a seed fund.
- Kejriwal was the civil society representative member of the committee constituted by the Government of India to draft the Jan Lokpal bill headed by the freedom fighter, Anna Hazare. Due to this he was arrested along with Hazare.
So far, it seems he is the best Prime Ministerial Candidate. But what I am going to write next will certainly make you think twice.
- Kejriwal established a political party, AAP in November 2012 as he believed that electoral politics is the only step to fight against corruption. This caused a rift between Arvind and the members who were fighting against the corruption. Leaders like Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi were against the formation of any political party but Arvind was too stubborn to buy any of their opinions whom he had once considered as his “GURUs”
- In the 2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections for all 70 seats, BJP won 31 seats, followed by Aam Aadmi Party with 28 seats and rest 11 being shared by Congress and others. AAP then formed the government with outside support from 8 Congress MLAs. And thus, Arvind Kejriwal was sworn as the chief minister of Delhi on 28 December 2013.
- After 49 days of being the CM of Delhi, he resigned as he failed to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill in the assembly. He later blamed Congress and BJP for this failure of passing the Bill.
Arvind Kejriwal’s Statements:
Pro-Delhi Assembly Elections: I have many proofs against Sheila Dikshit (then CM of Delhi) which is enough to send her behind the bars. She is a corrupted politician and I want to make Delhi corrupt free, so vote for AAP.
Post-Delhi Assembly Elections: *Oops sorry, he didn’t utter a single word about Sheila Dikshit. Perhaps he is having some short term memory loss because he forgot all about Sheila Dikshit and her corruption*
Now here arise some questions in my mind:
- To a pass a bill there is certain rules in the constitution which is to be followed. One cannot just sit in a Dharna and impose threats that he will dissemble the government if the bill is not passed. Even after being the CM, how can Arvind be so childish??? (Childish because only a child continues to cry until his wish is fulfilled).
- At first he has stated in his every interview that he is against the Congress and wants to make India a corrupt free country. He even said that he has numerous proofs against Sheila Dikshit but where those proofs went after he became the CM???
- Now even if AAP wins 100 seats out of 543 they won’t be able to form the government. They will have to take outer support from Congress or from BJP. Since Arvind is against Narendra Modi, AAP will form alliance with Congress. As an Indian Citizen do we want to witness another Congress Government???
- If I am not wrong before entering politics, Arvind was against Sonia Gandhi so he could have contested from Rae Bareily or from Amethi against Rahul Gandhi but why is he contesting against BJP prime ministerial candidate???
- Last but certainly not the least, Arvind used to say he wanted a Congress mukt Bharat but now in his every statement he says, “Hume MODI ko rokna hai”. Why such a change and that too from a person like him???
Answer to all these questions is simple, there is certainly and surely something cooking between Madam Ji and Arvind Ji at backstage.
Enough about AAP, let’s now talk about BJP and their Prime Ministerial Candidate, Shri Narendra Modi.
Narendra Modi:
This man doesn’t need any introduction. Unlike other candidates, Mr. Modi talks about development of India. A personality like him certainly deserves to be the Prime Minister of India.
Here in this blog I won’t waste your time writing any biography of Modi. For that you can always follow Wikipedia or search him on Google.
When we speak of Narendra Modi, the first thing which comes to many of our minds is ‘2002 Gujarat Riots’. Well, I might need to write another blog regarding that riot in detail but here I will mention only those things which are important.
Supreme Court of India has given clean chit to Modi regarding the 2002 riots. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was appointed by the SC to investigate the riot. The SIT found no substantial evidence against Modi and thus he was given a clean chit.
So now the people who are still accusing him are sheer IDIOTs. How can we say someone is guilty when there isn’t any prove against him?? Even when the Supreme Court has given Modi a clean chit, who are we to accuse him??
Now, I am going to discuss some points which are talked mostly nowadays.
Many are saying Modi is playing a dirty divisive politics but ask yourselves is it true?? Have he ever said Hindutva is great and you have to follow only one religion i.e Hindu. Have he ever asked the Muslims to get convert into Hindu religion. The answer to all these is a big NO. He talks only about one thing i.e. Development; development of Hindu, development of Muslims, development of every religion that will lead to development of whole India.
Now many will say he didn’t accept the Muslim Topi because but he wore Pagdi and Lungi while campaigning at Punjab and Tamil Nadu respectively. Mr.Modi had already given his answers regarding this. In an Interview he said that he don’t disrespect any religion but that doesn’t mean he don’t respect his religion either. He didn’t wear the Muslim Topi because it had a skull on it which isn’t acceptable by Hindu religion. He added saying, he doesn’t disrespect Muslim religion but just to please the voters he can never do something which Hindi religion don’t allow. And with that he also assured that any person found disrespecting or humiliating any religion will be punished.
I think many would have been happy, if he had worn that cap but he is not there for pleasuring peoples around him, he is standing there because he wants to take India to greater heights.
When BJP launched their slogan, “har har Modi, ghar ghar Modi”, many politicians including Digvijay Singh outraged against Modi saying, here Modi is referred to Mahadev (Har Har Mahadev) which is totally against the Hindu Mythology.
Now, how many of you are agreeing to this, c’mon raise your hands??
If you are raising your hands now then I will say no one is as stupid as you. Tell me one thing; don’t we join our hands to greet our relatives?? Some even touch their legs to get blessing. Does that make them God?? Does showing respect to someone make him/her God?? Then how just using “Har Har” before the name of Modi refers him to God. Again, even if it refers to God, I will say it’s completely justified. Modi is trying to develop our country and more or less there is no problem when he is being referred as GOD.
When BJP launched their slogan, “ab ki baar, Modi sarkaar”, many said whole BJP is campaigning in the name of only one person, Narendra Modi. Some also said that Modi is a hypocrite and the entire election campaign is centered only on him. Now say me, what’s the problem to say Modi Sarkaar?? Let me give you an example, when Indian Cricket Team enters any tournament, news flashes saying, Dhoni’s team is under new mission, Dhoni ki team etc etc. Similarly, Narendra Modi is the Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP so there should be not issues saying, “Ab ki baad, Modi sarkaar”. If you still think, BJP can’t use such slogan, I would suggest you to close everything and go to sleep.
There are many such things which could be written on him and for that even a book of hundred pages won’t be enough.
Now, let’s talk about the third candidate, Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi:
Seriously I have no idea what to say about this person. It won’t be wrong if I say that Rahul Gandhi is the least deserving person out of the three. The only thing that can make him the Prime Minister is luck. Only if UPA forms the government (seems hard though) Rahul baba can be the prime minister.
Here I am sharing a beautiful picture of Rahul Gandhi which I had found a few days back on Twitter.
I don't think I need to say anything more about Rahul Gandhi.
My Final Take:
Arvind Kejriwal: He might be a good person but money and the lure of power is making him nothing but a team player of Congress. He nowadays doesn’t say anything about corruption or Congress. His speeches only has one line in common, “hume Modi ko rokna hai”
Rahul Gandhi: Even after more than 10 years in Politics he looks too young for power. Giving the responsibility of serving the country as PM wouldn’t be wise. Some of his favorite words are, “Mummy, Toffee and Balloons”
P.S. This is completely my views and it may differ from yours. Anyways, feedback will always be appreciated...
