Book Blurb:

Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar. These celebrities are adored and looked up by millions who aspire to emulate their success stories. But what is it that separates them, and other Bollywood stars, from the rest?? Which is that one defining trait that makes them stand out, and how can you benefit from knowing it ??

In this one-of-a-kind book, Priyanka Sinha Jha looks at eleven luminaries from Bollywood, and the attribute that is perhaps most responsible for their success. She details their stories, their struggles, their efforts to overcome setbacks, and what is it about them that made them not just reach the top of their game, but stay there.

My Review:

Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif.. Aren’t we familiar with these superstars?? Many of us even dream of becoming next King Khan or next Bhai Jaan of Bollywood. In the century we are living in, every one of us wants to be rich, to have fame and success. But only lucky ones get that opportunity. Well, all these cannot be achieved through sheer luck; we have to work hard too.

Not only us but even the Bollywood stars do struggle. Their path to success isn’t that easy as we think it is. And this book tells us why they are called as “Superstars”. It also tells us the character they possess in real life which makes them different from their counterparts. For example, The Author has pointed out the Discipline quality of Amitabh Bachchan  as the best which makes him a living legend. Similarly, Aamir Khan’s perfection, Salman Khan’s generosity makes them unique.

The book is written in a simple and easy language which makes it a good read. It is small and compact as its only of 185 pages which won’t make you feel bore and you can finish it in one go. I am slightly disappointed with the book because most of the things written in the book can be easily found through internet. I am sure, most of the Bollywood fans must be knowing these Traits of their stars which doesn’t make this book any unique.

My Rating: 3.5/5 (A Simple, Nice Read)

Though the book was received as part of Reviewers Programme on The Tales Pensieve. I was completely unbiased while writing this review.

Book Blurb:

The last thing Rihaan needs in his life is to play host to a woman who drives his crazy! Saira is gorgeous, yes, but she’s also wildly infuriating. Yet every time she comes within an inch of him he finds his normally iron-clad control slipping further and further away.

Wanting to protect herself from more heartbreak, Saira knows she should keep her distance from Rihaan – but there’s something about him she just can’t seem to resist… Little does she know that Rihaan is hiding a secret! When it comes to light will it tear them apart – or raise their passion to new, more majestic heights?

My Reviews:

Unlike the other Indian writers, the writing of this book is brilliantly done. The Author has beautifully narrated the story which would take you into the world of Rihaan and Saira.

Saira broke her sister’s engagement because she fell in love with the groom. She was only twenty then. But her decision proved to be a disaster. Her marriage didn’t go well and finally she had to divorce the man. She came back to the place where she belonged but being a different Saira.

Rihaan, the male protagonist of the story is a well-known and popular scriptwriter. She cared for Saira, not because he empathize her, but because she was the sister-in-law of his best friend. He is popular, rich and arrogant too. He belongs to a rich royal family of kings but his failure in keeping his father’s word resulted in his banishment from the clan.

So will Rihaan go back to his family?? Can Saira and Rihaan ever get together??
To know and to go into a world of royal family, you need to read the book..
(what will be the use, if I mention everything in this blog.)

It isn’t an extra-ordinary love story but it is certainly different from others. The way the characters are defined and the way the story is written makes it a good read. The book is small and compact and is of only 185 pages which makes it an easy read.

P.S: What else could give a reader more happiness than having an author signed copy ?? Here is my author signed copy which is priceless to me !!

My Ratings: 4/5 (A good read)

Book Blurb:

In the middle of the catastrophic 2008 recession, Aditya, a jobless, penniless man meets an attractive stranger in a bar. Little does he know that his life will change forever.

When Radhika, a young, rich widow, marries off her step daughter, little does she know that the freedom she has yearned for is not exactly how she had envisioned it.

They say homing pigeons always come back to their mate, no matter where you leave them on the face of this earth. The Homing Pigeons is the story of love between these two unsuspecting characters as it is of lust, greed, separations, prejudices and crumbling spines.

My Review:

First of all I would like to thank the Author, Sid Bahri for giving the Novel Freaks such a wonderful book to read. In no way, it seems as his debut novel.
The 318 pages of the book will take you to the world of Aditya and Radhika. As like any other love story, even their love story starts from school days. But in the fear of losing the other, none could express what their heart feels.

Years later, they again confront each other during a management training program. They spend some time together and made love. It is then when both realized that they got what they wanted. But destiny turns the wheel, they get separated again, Radhika marries to her parent’s choice and moves abroad. This decision of Radhika proves to be a disaster; months later after having a miscarriage, she returns back to India, precisely to Aditya. And the story moves on…. (what will be the use if I write everything here.)

Honestly, this book, not only speaks of a love story but also it says how a single wrong decision of yours can make your life upside down. With that, it also has something to say about that period of Recession: where corporate giants were thrown out of their companies for no valid reasons.

The best thing I liked about the book is its narration. The Author has beautifully written the book which never made me feel bore. While reading it was really very hard to keep the book down, as it carved me to know what the story is really like. Last but certainly not the least, I loved the book and I bet, even you will definitely love it.

One thing that made me disappoint is, its end. The way the book has started and moved on, I was expecting more form the end. It felt as if the book end abruptly as if the Author is in a hurry to mark a full stop.

P.S: I got this book as a winner copy in a giveaway organized by “The ReadAddicts”

My Rating: 4.5/5
( -0.5 for the end. Irrespective of my Rating or Review, this is a book you should definitely read )

Book Blurb:

Akshat Diwan has everything that the tangible world can offer for a dream-like life – luxurious cars, a palatial mansion, extravagant wealth and an heirloom of infinite opulence. All but peace! His parents are forever in state of prolonged hostility; add to it failing spurious friendships and dwindling love life which metamorphoses him into a soul-less creature. Cursing his misfortune and in an attempt to end his anguish and disparity, Akshat embarks an unknown journey.
It’s no Longer a Dream is all about collecting the shattered pieces of meaning of life, love and relationships and bringing them back to a whole again.

My Review:

Where should I begin from?? This book was my first pre-ordered book and to be honest, it didn’t disappoint me. The book is all about love, it speaks of love but unlike other love story books, this is obviously much better.

In short, the Story is something like this:
Akshat Diwan, the lead protagonist of this book has anything and everything in his life. He has luxurious car, a huge mansion, and rich enough to buy anything what he desires. One thing which he didn’t have was peace. His parent’s daily fights and failure in love took away all the peace out of his life.

In seek of solace, he then decides to leave his home and go on to an unknown place where he could relax and bring back his life all together. While seated on the train he meets a stranger, Randhir, who at later narrates his story to Akshat. On hearing Randhir’s story of love Akshat finally realizes where he was going wrong and he then goes back to Naina.

To know about Randhir’s life you have to read the book, what will be the use if I write everything here.

I didn’t like the start of the book. It was quite boring and it seems the Author has mixed some Bollywood masala to it and stretched a bit. The best and the most interesting part of the book starts mid-way from where, I bet, you can’t put the book down. I finished it in almost one go and somewhat, tears dropped down my eyes....

After reading the book, I can proudly say, Love is no longer a dream, don’t fail to realize it, life don’t give second chance.

My Ratings:  4/5 ( A wonderful read which might make you cry )
